Schedules and arrangements
The program for the orienteering week has been updated to include the schedules for both WOC Tour and WOC2025 competition days. The WOC Tour program has been planned in consideration of the World Championships, ensuring that participants of the orienteering week have the opportunity to watch all championship events as spectators.
There will be bus transportation to the competition venues. Transportation from Tahko to the Nilsiä arena and back is available, following the main road from the tip of the Tahko peninsula. Those who have purchased a bus ticket in advance will be able to board. On competition days in Tahko, there will be bus transportation from Kuopio to Tahko and back for those who have bought tickets in advance. The World Championship bus traveling from Kuopio to Tahko or Nilsiä will depart from Spa Hotel Rauhalahti, passing through Hotel Savonia and Kuopio Market Square before arriving at the arenas. Along the way, it will pick up passengers at Spa Hotel Kunnonpaikka and Siilinjärvi Bus Station. There is also a shuttle service from Tahko to the Kuopio competitions (and back) for pre-ticketed passengers. The schedules are designed to ensure that competitors arrive at the venue on time. For those arriving by private car, parking areas will be available at all competition venues. Please follow signage when arriving at the competition site. Driving through the Nilsiä town center will not be permitted for competitors on competition days. More information about bus transport can be found here. Instructions for those arriving by car will be updated here.
At the competition venues, a childcare area will be available for children, and spots can be reserved through the event’s online store. The competition center will offer orienteering supplies for sale, along with a restaurant or other food service options. More information about childcare can be found here.
In Nilsiä and Tahko, the competition centers are located near by the water, so competitors have an opportunity to go swimming after their performances. The starting points are within reasonable distances, and the finish line area provides a good viewing spot for spectators. In the Kuopio events, washing facilities will not be available. The distances to the starting points in Kuopio are longer, and both Kuopio stages will have remote finish locations. The distances from the starting points and remote finishes to the competition center will be published in the competition instructions. Directions to the starting points and finish locations will be provided on the event’s website.
Registrations for the competitions and recreational orienteering at standard pricing tiers will close on May 31, 2025. Late registration will be possible until June 22, 2025. Registration for recreational orienteering can still be done on-site at “on-site” prices.
And if accommodation is still needed, you can explore available options through our partner organizations. Accommodation options can be found here.
Looking forward to the orienteering week!
