The World Championship event held alongside the WOC Tour Orienteering Week offers competitors a great vantage point
The Kuopio WOC Tour week offers high-quality competitions
During the Orienteering Week, there is an excellent opportunity to watch the World Orienteering Championships next July and navigate the same terrains yourself. Hannu Heiskanen, a six-time summer orienteering Finnish champion from Sonkajärven Pahka and a winner of over 20 Finnish championships in ski orienteering, is heading to the terrains of Kuopio’s Tahko, Neulamäki, and Puijo because of their challenging nature.
“I am looking forward to the Kuopio WOC Tour competition week with great interest. The organizers are experienced, and especially the terrains of Tahko and Neulamäki are demanding. The competitions will be of high quality,” Heiskanen reflects six months before the event.
The World Championships and the WOC Tour week also bring recognition to the region, KuoSu, and Savo in general. The proximity of the competition venues is also one reason why Hannu Heiskanen is coming to the week.
“Good competitions are in store, and they are also at a convenient distance to visit, even from home.” The World Championships are enticing, with the proximity of the venues and the challenging terrains.
You can still register for the WOC Tour Orienteering Week at a discounted rate. The next registration phase is open until the end of the year. However, there are only a few days left.
