Arriving to Arenas

You can arrive at the WOC Tour arenas on foot, by bicycle, by your own car, or by the event shuttle bus. The shuttle bus will take you close to the arena. Those arriving by car can park in the areas designated by the event organizers.

NOTE! Bus tickets need to be purchased beforehand (by July 7) from: https://holvi.com/shop/woc2025/. Tickets will not be sold in the bus.

Monday 7.7.2025, WOC Tour (Fin5) 1st competition
Kankainen sports field

The Kankainen sports field will be the competition arena right next to Nilsiä.
The center of the Nilsiä is the competition area and competitors are not allowed to park there.
In Nilsiä, parking is available on the roads in the western part of Nilsiä, from which the distance to the competition center is 500 – 1600m. See a more detailed map below.

The easiest way for those arriving by car is to park in Tahko at the Tahkolahti parking area (no parking fee). You can take a bus from Tahko to the competition arena, which takes you to a bus stop 300 m from the arena. Returning to Tahko by bus is also easy. Bus tickets are available for purchase until 7.7. Tickets cannot be purchased on the bus.
It is recommended to come from Kuopio by bus, which picks up orienteers from the route: Spa Hotel Rauhalahti – Hotel Savonia – Kuopio Market Square – Spa Hotel Kunnonpaikka – Siilinjärvi Bus Station – Nilsiä Arena.

The Kankainen Arena is a grass field with a running track around it. It is NOT allowed to set up Club tents, windbreaks and club flags in the Woc Tour (Fin5) arenas due to the technology under the arena field. Services at the field include Suunnistajan Kauppa, Bakery Liepuska’s café tent and an ice cream kiosk. Competitors can wash up on the beach next to the sports field.

Tuesday 8.7.2025, WOC Tour (Fin5) 2nd competition
Tahkolahti Arena

The competition arena is under the ski slopes next to Tahkolahti. The area can be conveniently reached from Tahko centre along the bridge or as a warm-up by going around theTahkolahti.
Parking for those coming by car is arranged in the Tahkolahti parking area (free of charge).
Those staying in Tahko can best reach the arena by walking.

Those who have prebooked a bus from Kuopio, the bus picks up orienteers from the route: Spa Hotel Rauhalahti – Hotel Savonia – Kuopio Market Square – Spa Hotel Kunnonpaikka – Siilinjärvi Bus Station – Tahkolahti Arena.

There are no services in the actual competition arena, but they are located on the other side of Tahkolahti, in the yard of Sokos Hotel Tahko. You will find food and drink services and other sales points, from which you can, among other things, buy World Cup shirts and other support equipment, as well as orienteering-related clothing and goods from Suunnistajan Kauppa.
Competitors can wash up at the Tahkolahti beach near the arena.

Wednesday 9.7.2025, WOC Tour (Fin5) 3rd competition
Tahkolahti arena

Kuopio region public transport, Vilkku, has added extra services from the city center to Neulamäki during the World Championship final.

Driving time is about 10 minutes and the bus stop is a 150 m walk from the competition center. Parking fee (12€/car) includes bus transportation. Parking fees are paid via the EasyPark app (area code: 3871).
Coming from the north, turn off at exit no. 70 Kuopio and Kelloniemi (Puijo + Orthodox Church Museum).
Coming from the south, turn off at exit no. 69 Kuopio P and Kuopiohalli (Kuopiohalli signs).

Neulamäki arena

The Neulamäki competition arena is located on the sports field at the end of Raiviopolku. We recommend arriving by bus,by bike or on foot. The bicycle parking area is located near to the arena.

For those coming by car, the most convenient way is to park in the Kuopiohalli parking area, from where buses provide non-stop transportation from in front of Kuopiohalli to near the Neulamäki competition arena. Driving time is about 10 minutes and the distance from the bus stop to the competition center is 150 meters on foot. Parking fee(12€/car), includes the bus transportation. Parking fees are paid via the EasyPark app (area code: 3871).
Those coming from the north turn at exit no. 70 Kuopio and Kelloniemi (Puijo + Orthodox Church Museum).
Coming from the south, take exit no. 69 Kuopio P and Kuopiohalli (Kuopiohalli signs).

The Neulamäki arena is a sand artificial turf field (baseball field). Club tents, windbreaks and club pennants are not allowed in Fin5 arenas due to the technology under the arenas’ fields.

The arena offers food and drink services as well as other sales points, where you can buy, for example, World Cup shirts and other support equipment, as well as clothing and goods related to orienteering from the Suunnistajan Kauppa.

Puijo arena

Puijo competition arena is located at the ski stadium Suurmäentie 85. We recommend arriving by bus, by bike or on foot. The bicycle parking area is located at the city-side end of the arena. Please note! If you arrive by Vilkku city bike, the nearest bike parking station is in Puijonlaakso, Puijo station is not in use. With the WOC event shuttle bus, you can easily get close to the arena

Book your seat on the reliable WOC shuttle by purchasing a round-trip ticket from the WOC2025Shop. The driving schedules will be planned in June to ensure you arrive at the competition start or spectator area on time and return to your accommodation after the event ends. The WOC shuttle is easy to recognize by the WOC logo.
